American Crows that landed nearby. Crafty and intelligent. The oldest recorded crow lived to approximately 16 years. Usually traveling in large numbers, unlike the raven, which will travel in pairs rather than larger groups. Murder of crows, the term used for large groups or flocks of crows, so known because of their scavenger-like nature.

Merganser at Nisqually
A common merganser scoping out the low tide at Nisqually Wildlife. The the hairdo on these little guys, they are so cute to watch. The epitome of bad hair days or just plain punk style and ready to rock and roll.
Just a Drop of Water
A droplet of water in winter, on the verge of hitting the ground. Another moment and it will be gone, hitting the earth to moisten the ground.
Winter Contrasts
A tree with lovely curvature, barren of leaves, and the pine tree, perfectly cone-shapped amidst a snowfall. Hints of wintery colors, angles of greens and whites and grays, skating curvatures and sharp angles, stark branches, lush and bristly pine. The essence of winter.
Winter Hibernation
Stillness and a sense of sleep, frozen in time, awaiting a spring thaw. Photography captures that moment, and in the spring, it will capture the awakening. But for now, the world is at rest, beneath a snowy blanket. All is still.

The Goodyear Blimp Visits
A little downtime for the Good Year blimp at the airstrip. Stopped by our town for a summer in 2016.
And then in the air as a train rumbles by in downtown Centralia.
